OUR MISSION
Our mission is to make DMI therapy accessible to every child, everywhere. Whether by supporting families with funding for therapy intensives or equipping dedicated therapists in underserved locations with the training and tools they need, we want to live in a world where all children have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.
Our Story
Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) is a therapeutic technique used by physical and occupational therapists to help children overcome gross motor challenges. Driven by a vision to make quality therapy accessible to all children and their families, DMI co-founders Jake Kreindler and Jo-Anne Weltman set out to share this transformative method with therapists around the globe. Since the first DMI training course in 2021, nearly 4,000 therapists across 61 countries have achieved various levels of certification, empowering countless children to reach new goals. While we are deeply proud of these dedicated therapists and their commitment to their patients and their profession, we recognize that geographical and financial barriers still limit access for many. That’s why DMI Children's Foundation was created—to break down these barriers and extend the reach of DMI therapy to underserved communities worldwide.
PROGRAMS WITH PURPOSE
FUNDING FOR FAMILIES IN NEED
DMI Intensives typically consist of 10-30 hours of specialized therapy over the course of 1-3 weeks. Oftentimes, this treatment is not covered by insurance. Coupled with travel and lodging expenses, this can make accessing treatment a significant financial challenge for some families. Through your generosity, we aim to ease this burden by providing funding that not only covers the cost of the therapy itself but also helps alleviate the expenses associated with travel and accommodation.
MISSION TRIPS
To date, thousands of therapists around the world have received various levels of DMI certification. Many of these therapists share our vision in making DMI therapy accessible to every child, everywhere. Instead of bringing the child to the therapist, we want to bring therapists to an entire village. With your support, we plan to extend the reach of DMI therapy to underserved communities in remote locations through dedicated mission trips—bridging the gap and providing help where it’s needed most.
COVERING EQUIPMENT COSTS
For many therapists, the cost of equipment can be a significant hurdle. We don't want this financial obstacle to deter therapists from pursuing their dream. Together, we can give providers the tools they need to succeed by covering the cost of therapy equipment such as DMI box sets and therapy tables. By supporting these dedicated therapists, we’re not just investing in equipment—we’re investing in stronger communities and brighter futures for the children they serve. SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS
At the core of DMI therapy is a commitment to fostering a global community where therapists can collaborate, learn, and grow together. In many underserved regions, passionate therapists are eager to bring advanced therapy techniques to the children in their care—but the cost of certification can be a significant obstacle. Through scholarship opportunities, we aim to equip these dedicated professionals with the skills and training needed to offer DMI therapy. Together, we can empower therapists in resource-limited areas and open the door to life-changing care for children who have never before had access to this level of support.
